The weekly report gives me a sense of flow, in this state that is similar to meditation, I review and reflect on my ordinary and mundane life, just like a child sketching a colorful painting

Just like a bird that gets tired after flying for a long time, it also needs to find a place to rest and drink water and eat. This week, I also experienced the pain caused by too much pressure. After falling asleep, I felt that the string was always tight and couldn’t really relax. Even lying down and listening to a podcast quietly became a luxury. It seems that as soon as I calm down, I will lose something. I always feel restless and anxious, so I have to start forcing myself to close my eyes and enter a stream of consciousness. Zhang Xiaofeng once mentioned in “My Light Experiment” that she likes dark nights, turning off the lights in the room, and being alone in the darkness. It’s like the universe has become a huge balance, and the light is sitting on the other side, facing each other silently, enjoying the peace and tranquility of this small section of life away from the fast-paced life

Perhaps it’s due to his personality, he always feels anxious inside, walks in a hurry, and his eyes are always searching. He must eat quickly, finish writing an article immediately and publish it, and skip useless dialogues when watching TV dramas to know the ending right away. It’s not that he can’t calm down, but he’s afraid of missing the moment and not being able to experience it again

After working for a long time, my mindset has gradually undergone many changes. I have become more focused on the end result and no longer pay attention to the current process. I lack reflection on the process. It’s as if once the result is achieved, everything is good. I used to read Randy’s articles and fantasized about going to Thailand to practice Zen, meditate, and learn how to rest properly. But then I thought, why bother with all that? In this moment, as I write my weekly report, I slowly savor the sound of the keyboard tapping, the beats of the music coming through my headphones, a beam of sunlight shining through the window, and a speck of dust dancing in the wind. It’s strange how Zhang Dai’s 《HU XIN TING KAN XUE》 can leave people in awe

The sky, clouds, mountains, and water, all blend into one white. Shadows on the lake, only a trace along the embankment, a dot at the heart of the lake, and a speck on my boat, with just a few people on board

The beauty of written records will eventually be shattered by reality. Just imagine, braving the bitter cold of the ninth lunar month, sailing on the river, despite being bundled up in warm clothes and surrounded by a roaring fire, the penetrating coldness is still imaginable. Fortunately, this journey did not disappoint, and there was even someone extraordinary on the lake!

I like Zhang Xiaofeng the most

I am a traveler, but I can’t help but indulge in the beauty of the mountains

Why not take a leisurely stroll, passerby?

This is the preface of this week’s report

💭 Intrusive thoughts

This week, it is worth mentioning the August fitness goal set for me by Apple Fitness: to exercise for more than 110 minutes every day for 14 consecutive days

At first, I thought it might be a bit excessive, but now I’ve already completed it 12 times. In August, I averaged 125 minutes of exercise per day

Actually, I exercise regularly, playing badminton, running, doing HIT, and so on. But my weight has never gone down, probably because I still love eating staple foods too much. This week, I have started to jump rope again, with two goals in mind. Firstly, I believe that jumping rope is the best way to lose weight, as you can burn 100 calories in less than 10 minutes. Secondly, I want to improve my stamina and jumping ability for playing badminton

Recently, I have also started to become interested in politics. Before this, I didn’t really pay much attention to these things. My thoughts on history were more focused on military affairs and individuals. As for political issues, authority, and legitimacy, I rarely delved into them. However, driven by my inner curiosity, I gradually came to understand terms such as politics, power, authority, and legitimacy. Combined with the current economic downturn, I have also gradually realized that history actually serves as a valuable reference for the present. The irony of history lies in the fact that we know certain things are wrong, and history has proven this, yet it remains the only rational and effective solution in the present

I started reading physical books again last week, seemingly to escape from a life constantly surrounded by screens. I need to break free and distance myself from the constant bombardment of screens, using methods that may seem regressive or like a means of escape

📖Reading & 🎮 Gaming

The preface also mentioned that this week was quite chaotic, without a planned schedule for watching dramas or reading. Instead, I picked up Xbox and Apple Arcade games that I haven’t played in a long time, reliving the joy of gaming and gaining many new experiences

One of the eye-catching games is “Cat vs. Evil Dragon” (forgive me for not playing many games). I added it to my wishlist on Steam a long time ago but never got around to playing it. Luckily, I saw that it was also available on the App Store, so I bought it

It’s quite fun to play with the controller, but as always, I’m clumsy with my hands. I’m prepared to spend some time to clear the game

The preface mentions that I have become increasingly obsessed with history and have begun to ponder the legitimacy of political power. By chance, I stumbled upon this video

The Three Kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu fought for the mandate of heaven. What were their distinctive features? Which one had a higher legitimacy?

The author really dares to speak up, no matter how you look at it, it feels very reactionary. 🐶

I quite like this course on Bilibili. I’m planning to buy it and study it thoroughly, to ponder over the true nature of power and the meaning of the existence of a nation

Prejudice in Politics: Professor Li Yun’s Political Science Course

In addition, no matter how you look at this statement, it feels like a satire on current politics… Indeed, Soviet jokes never go out of style 🤣

📝 Some memorable sentences

Mainly Zhang Xiaofeng’s sentences, I really love her prose (mainly because I need to meet the word count for the weekly report, can’t think of anything else 😁)

  • Although feeling discouraged, in an instant, a thought emerged as if a myriad of radiant lights broke through the clouds. “You still have a pen.”
  • It seems that I mustered up the courage, taking advantage of the good weather, and walked in..
  • Once a stunning fragrance, once housed in a magnificent and dazzling box, once so lovable, once admired and coveted, once superior to peers, once self-sufficient in brilliance… And finally, in a lifetime, the skilled dancer, danced beneath the moonlight of the Willow Tower; the skilled warrior, traversed the battlefield covered in twilight grass and smoke; the skilled poet, stirred the mountains, rivers, and spirits; the skilled gatherer, held gold, pearls, and jewels in abundance… But as for their own mortal bodies, they were destined to be a box cast into the yellow earth
  • I suddenly realized the dignity and brilliance of myself, which turned out to be even better than the stone Buddha sitting cross-legged on the lotus seat in the deep mountains
  • If the blue sky can forget the caress of the white clouds, if the old tree can forget the melodious song of the oriole, then you should also quickly forget my small visit that day
  • Just like a commoner in plain clothes, once entering the court, all vitality is instantly extinguished
  • So, from time to time, I use a spray bottle to moisten the stone flowerpot. I want to deceive the stone, let it mistakenly think that it still lives on the mountain, still eats the morning dew and drinks the evening mist every day, and is still a stone with smoke and rain
  • I admit that those who can travel the world with just a bowl and a staff are truly admirable for their carefree spirit, but isn’t someone like me, who wants to offer a cup of tea to honor famous people around the world, also quite lovely?
